My music instrument🎻

      My music instrument is the violin. 🎻The violin is the four stringed instrument. It is the smallest member of the stringed instrument family. Viola, Chello, Double Bass also belong to this family. It is an instrument used in instrument made in Italy. The violin is played by a bow. It is also sometimes called the "fiddle". This player is called a Violinist or "Fiddler". Most violins have a hallow wooden body. In Western Music the violin is tuned to G,D,A,E notes. In the Oriental Music the violin is tuned to G,C,G,C or F,C,G,D notes. 

    I started playing the violin in grade -7. The violin sound is very sweet. The violin is a mandatory instrument in orchestra. "Itzhak Perlman" is considered the most famous violinist today in Western Music. Currently my favorite Classical violinist is "Nandini Shankar".😍 She is an Indian violinist. My favorite violinist in Sri-Lanka is Thushani Jayawardhana.😍 Someday, I would like to become a talented violinist like these.😍😍😍

Our Garden 🌱🌴🌳🥑

        Our garden is about an acre. We grow flowers as well as vegetables and fruits in the garden.😊😊Most of  the time the garden is maintained by my mother. But in free time everyone at home helps to her. We growed vegetables such as Long Beans, Ladies Fingers, Tomato, Radish, Winged Beans, Luffa, Brinjal, Bitter Gourd, Pumpkin and Chili in our garden. Also leafy varieties are growed in the garden. 🤗

     We have a lot of fruits in our garden. Mango, Banana, Orange, Pineapple, Papaya, Guava, Woodapple, Avacado, Pomegranate, Soursop such fruits are grown.🍌🍍🍊🍐🥭🥑 Birds come to our garden to eat this fruits. We apply organic fertilizer to each of these crops. Most of the time we do not buy vegetables from the shop. 

     But in some dry seasons watering is a problem. At that seasons the water in the well runs low. In addition to these crops, there are permanent crops such as Coconut, Papper, Cinnamon and Arecanut. Home-grown vegetables are high in flavor and quality. Because of this, we can save the money. 

📕Went to Colombo International Book Fair😀😀

     I went to the 2020 Colombo International Book Fair with my father. It was held at the BMICH. That was the first time I visited the Colombo International Book Fair.😀 We went there at 9a.m. It had a lot of booths from different publishers. But we did not have time to go to every booths. We went to a few booths and bought the books we needed. Among them were novels, short stories, Sherlock Holms books, music books, science books and past exam papers. 

        My father went to many booths to find a valuble book called "Eda Heladiwa". It is my father's favorite book. Finally, we found it. Here we were able to get the book at a very low prices. We bought about 35 books. Within a month of buying the books, I had finished reading about 30 books. Because my hobby is reading books.   

Grand mother's birthday party😘😘

     My grand mother's birthday is 27th December in 1953. She is now 69 years old. We organized a surprise party for her 68th birthday.😮 That day, my grand mother went to her medical clinic in the morning.  After she left, the whole family got together and organized a birthday party. 😍

     We ordered a beautiful birthday cake.🎂 We decorated living room with balloons. At 11a.m. we were all ready and finished. At about 12.30p.m. grand mother comes to home. She was surprised to see the decorated living room. In fact, by then she had forgotten that it was her birthday. Then she cut the birthday cake. We all congratulated her. 

     She also received gifts that day. 🎁Among them was a very beautiful golden chain. It was a gift from my father and my uncle. It was a very happy day for all of us.

The most beautiful movie I have ever seen😍

      I love watching movies in my spare time. 😍I also like to watch Sinhala, Hindi  and English movies. But the Tamil films I like to watch the most. Of those, my favorite movie is "Bigil". 

        It is a film about the game of football. ⚽Thalapathy Vijey plays the main role in this movie. He is my favorite Tamil actor. He contributes a double role to the movie. In addition, my favorite Tamil actress Nayanathara also contributes to the cast of this movie. Here is how a group of poor girls win the Indian women's football championship. I watched this movie several times.  Mr. Atlee was director in this movie. The music director of this movie is Mr. A.R. Rahuman. He is a very talented musician in the world. My mother likes this movie as much much as I do.

Trip to Trincomalee 🤩🤩🤩

        I went on a trip to Trincomalee in 2017. That trip is an annual school trip. That day every children and teachers gathered near our school at 4.30a.m. in the morning. We all observed Pansil and later we got on the buses. At about 5.15a.m. in the morning we left near the school. On the way we all stopped for take breakfast. It was abut 10a.m. when we reached Trincomalee. First, we went to the Seruwawila temple. Later we went to see the Koneshwaram Kovila. Then we went to see the Kinniya Hot Springs and Marble Beach. During this trip I was able to see the Kinniya bridge. Which is the longest bridge in Sri-Lanka. After lunch we went to Nilaweli beach. It's a very interesting place. We had fun there for about four hours.🤗🤗🤩🌊 We could even bathe in the sea. We all sang songs in the beach. We left to return at about 6p.m. This trip is one I will never forget.😍😍😍

My country is Sri-Lanka💓

         My country is Sri-Lanka. It is located in the Indian Ocean. Sri-Lanka belongs to the Asian Continent. My country known as the Pearl of the Indian Ocean. There are Sinhalese, Tamils and Muslims living in my country. Most of the people in my country are Buddhists. There are also Hindus, Muslims, Catholics and other religions. 💓

        My country is an agricultural country. Sri-Lanka's Tea, Coconut, Rubber, Paddy and other crops are exported. The capital of Sri-Lanka is Sri Jayawardhanapura Kotte and the main commercial city is Colombo. A large number of tourists visits my country everyday. Mahaweli river is the longest river in my country. Piduruthalagala is the highest mountain and  and Bambarakanda is the highest waterfall in Sri-Lanka. My country is a very small island. I love my country.💓 

Sinhala and Tamil New Year😊

        Sinhala and Tamil New Year is celebrated in April. I really like the Sinhala and Tamil New Year season.😍 At the end of march we clean the house. We all go shopping for new clothes and accessories. During this season, my mother and grand mother prepare a variety of dishes together. Kavum, Kokis, Asmee, Dodol, Welithalapa, Aggala, Cake, Aluwa are some of them. 😊

The whole family goes to the temple during the holy season.🙏 Then we perform New Year rituals. My mother makes milk rice on New Year's morning. During this season we receive a variety of gifts. I would like to go to the New Year festival. We participate in various competitions. The winners of the competitions will receive prizes.🎁 The environment is also very beautiful these days. We all go to relative's houses.

Vesak Festival🙏

        Vesak festival is the main religious festival of the Buddhists. The birth, enlightenment and passing away of Lord Buddha took place on the Vesak Poya day. 🙏The Vesak festival is held in the month of May. Many buddhists observe Sil in Vesak Poya day. Many people engage in religious observances. Vesak lanterns can be seen in every home during this period. Children love to make Vesak lanterns. Devotional songs shows and Vesak lanterns competitions can be seen every where during this period. Many people go on pilgrimages. The Siripa Season ends on Vesak Poya day. 

We observe sil every  Vesak Poya Day. In the evening Vesak Lanterns are lit in our house. Every Vesak Poya Day our family gathers prepare a Dansal. During the Vesak season we go to see the pandals and enjoy in the carnival. 

A trip to Nuwara Eliya 😍

         I have been Nuwara Eliya several times. The last time I went was in 2016. That was from my school's annual trip. We left school at five in the morning. First we want to Aluwiharaya in Mathale. We had breakfast there. Later we went to see the Ambewela Farm. It is too big. we bought dairy products there. 😍

 Then we went to the Lake Gregory. It is very cold in there. We had lunch there and sang songs for a while. Then we went to sea Haggala botanical garden. Wow! It's so beautiful place. We stayed there for about two hours. In the evening we went to worship at the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy. On the way back we all sang songs loudly. The teachers also sang songs. We returned to school at about 11p.m. It was a very happy day for me. 😍

My favourite place to go😍😍

         There are many places I like to go in Sri-Lanka. Of those Meemure is my favourite place to go. Unfortunately, I have not been there yet. But my brother went to Meemure last year with friends on his university. One day when I saw the photos he had, I thought of going to Meemure. I could see it was a very beautiful area.

        Meemure is an isolated village in the Central Province of Sri-Lanka, located 324m above sea level an hidden amongst the mountains. the only way to reach it is from the "Hunnasgiriya" mountain, which is part of the Knuckles range, approximately 50km from Kandy. My brother told me that the village was very beautiful. There are  lot of beautiful water falls. They have very clean water. Its climate is very cold. The "Suriya Arana" film was shoot in this village. But the road to this village is very dilapidated. But there is no telephone signal facility. Morning fog is cover the all area. I like to go there and take a dip in a cold waterfall. I'll definitely go to Meemure someday.

what do I do in my free time📕📖

      I am currently a first year student at the University of the Visual And Performing Arts. So most of the time I don't get a break. That's because I have lectures everyday, I always write notes and practicing instruments. But in my free time I like to read books.📕 I have a small library in our house. At present there are about 200 books in it. It has novels, Short stories, historical books, buddhist books and lot of Sherlock Holms books. I love reading Sherlock Holms books.💕 My father brings to me two books each month. 

      

       I also like to watch TV in my free time. I most like to Korean dramas. Sometimes I play with my two dogs. Their names are Shadow and Winnie. So sometimes I help my mother. I like to travel once a week. But I still can't go that way.    

Trip to Anuradhapura😀

 I went to Anuradhapura with my family in 2019. We left the house at 5 a.m. that day. We had our breakfast at Kekirawa about 7 a.m.

 Later we first went to Ruwanweli Seya. After worshiping the Ruwanweli Seya, We worshiped the Sri Maha Bodhiya. After that we worshiped Lowamahapaya, Thuparamaya, Mirisawetiya and Abhayagiriya.

We had lunch at about 1 p.m. at the Mahamewna Uyana. That Garden is too big. After that we worshiped Lankaramaya, chethawanaramaya and Isurumuniya temple in the evening. Our grand father told us a lot of details about these temples. On the way back we bathed in the Nachchaduwa lake. We had a lot of fun there. We spent a lot of time near the lake. Went back home at about 5 p.m. On the way we went to a restaurant for dinner. We returned home at 11 p.m. That trip was a very pleasant trip.
